Hardly any sound from headset after sleepmode

Hey,
I have a weird problem.
When i close my laptop and open it again and log back in, my headset hardly makes any sound and crack and rattles. Replugging it, fiddling around with audio settings, nothing works.
Only completely rebooting the system makes the sound go back to normal.
Any ideas?
