"Help Center" missing after update 3.9.0

Hey folks, we noticed that the Endless Specific “Help Center” app is missing with the latest update, possibly replaced by “GNOME Help”. We refer our clients to the Help Center regularly. Was this an oversight, or is the Help Center being retired? Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for reaching out.

Our previous in-OS Help Center was actually GNOME Help, rebranded and with some fairly deep customisations to the content, so it ended up looking quite different. However it had been left untouched for years, so the content had many inaccuracies.

We have now updated to the latest GNOME Help. We are tweaking the content again so that it is more applicable to the Endless desktop, but we have not yet completed that process, so you will find that some content is not quite right in the context of Endless OS. Nevertheless we believe overall this new content is still closer to the truth than the outdated content we were shipping in the previous release.

If there are specific sections of the help that you point clients to regularly then please let us know and we will prioritise fixing them up.

Thanks, Daniel. That sounds about right. I’ll check with my team to see if there are specific things we’d like to point to but it sounds like you guys are already in the process of making minor Endless-specific adaptations. Thanks for the quick response!
