How to set proxy and connect to LAN in endless OS?

need help…

What version of Endless OS are you using?
To check which version of Endless OS you are in Settings :arrow_right: Details

The version is 3.5.4

Upgrade to Endless OS 3.7.6 by App Center

Who came first? egg or chicken?
How can I upgrade without internet connection?? I have to connect to LAN first.

Something that would help us a lot to understand the problem would be this:

  1. Open the application called ‘Terminal’
  2. In this application run the command:

eos-diagnostics

  1. The above command will create a file with the information of your system (example: eos-diagnostic-160614_111731_UTC + 0100.txt); Send us this file so we can analyze and see a possible solution

So, as far as i understand, you have set up a proxy in the control panel:

… but are still unable to reach the external world?

Does this only affect browsers, or are you even unable to update and install software? Can you please open a Terminal and write:

echo $http_proxy
echo $https_proxy

This will output the currently set proxy for http(s) protocols. Then run:

wget https://www.google.com

Post the output of the above commands. If the later one succeeds, it’s at least a indication that your proxy works and your system connects to the internet through it.
