hi when i opened my laptop today…i was able to connect to wifi…please see the diagnostics…eos-diagnostic-200724_211648_UTC 0800.txt (718.4 KB) …not sure if this will work going forward or just a temp fix…

Hi,
yes today the wireless adapter is recognized by the system:

03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168NGW [Stone Peak] [8086:24fb] (rev 10)
	Subsystem: Intel Corporation Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168NGW [Stone Peak] [8086:2110]
	Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 129
	Memory at 91100000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
	Capabilities: <access denied>
	Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi
	Kernel modules: iwlwifi

I assume that theres some problem with the physical connection between the card and the slot it occupies. I strongly recommend you to take it to some repair shop to make sure it properly sits in the connector.

thank you for the response. ill observe for the meantime…

Hello, @nelson_flores your problem is not the same as the original poster.
With latest kernel version in 3.8.4/3.8.5 Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168NGW should work just fine.

From the log, the connection between AP actually works;
Do you have other Wi-FI networks to try with? So you can compare the Internet connection and see if there is any configuration that needs to be changed in your network environment.
