Problems when turning on and GNOME 3.24 run time end of life message in terminal

I’m having problems when I turn on my notebook. Acer Logo and then Endless Logo appears but it takes about five minutes to go/ open to my home screen.

I also see this when terminal is used.

I would appreciate your help on this. I’ve attached the diagnostics for your perusal. Thank you. Jack75

  1. Open the application called ‘Terminal’
  2. In this application run the command:
flatpak update --appstream && flatpak update -y
flatpak uninstall --unused -y
flatpak update -y

Thank you for your prompt response. I’ve done as requested and now see this in terminal:
Required runtime for org.freedesktop.Platform.Icontheme.EndlessOS/x86_64/1.0 (runtime/org.freedesktop.Sdk/x86_64/1.6) found in remote flathub
F: ops remaining after sort, maybe there is a dependency loop?

Is this ok or does it pose a problem? The original warning about GNOME being no longer supported has gone. I’ve attached another diagnostic.eos-diagnostic-200224_073243_UTC 0700.txt (2.5 MB)

After restarting, the first problem of Endless taking a long time - around five minutes - to open to my desktop homepage still persists.

Many thanks. Jack75

Hi @Jack75!

Does the OS still takes around 5 minutes to start if you boot the computer again?

Hi Byron.

Yes, Endless logo appears and after five minutes the home screen becomes available every time I boot the notebook.

Cheers.

When you press ESC during that time period, what is displayed? Can you please make a photo of it and post it in this thread.

Sure, will do. Give me a minute…

Moving too fast to get a clear shot. Once the Endless logo appeared, pressing ESC didn’t reveal anything.

Hi all

With the EOS 3.7.8 update the delayed opening to my home screen after booting my notebook has now disappeared.

Thanks. Jack75
