Hello guys, today i bought a laptop with Endless OS. I could not do anything, downloading or updating apps just wont work. I was on 3.0.9 version and software update didnt work too. I put Ethernet cable in lap instead of trying to download things via wifi. Everything worked fine. First i updated software to the newest version and everything started working fine after that, even on the wifi. I hope this could be of any help to you. Cheers
Hello Filipcofi,
Thanks for posting this. I had a similar problem, the updates didnât work, always gave me an error about some âhandshake TLSâ when I tried to update GNOME and some error about Flathub when I tried to update VLC.
Anyway, this problem occurred when I connected the Ethernet cable and disabled Wi-fi⌠When I read your post I did the opposite of what you did: turned on Wi-fi and disconnected the cable and voilà , the updates run fine.
Edit: Nope, talked to early⌠only the VLC update worked. The GNOME update with the âhandshake TLS problemâ still happensâŚ
I donât understand why this happens, itâs like a bug that might need some fixing.
Well, i hope that this post is going to help someone. I never heared of this OS before, first time i saw it was when i bought the laptop yesterday. And yea, this system needs some major fixes but i like it
Something that would help us a lot to understand the problem would be this:
- Open the application called âTerminalâ
- In this application run the command:
eos-diagnostics
- The above command will create a file with the information of your system (example: eos-diagnostic-160614_111731_UTC + 0100.txt); Send us this file so we can analyze and see a possible solution
I use different internet connections, sometimes itâs a ethernet cable at my house, other times itâs my phoneâs carrier internet. When I used ethernet or wi-fi from my house, it gave me the error. When I used the internet from my phone, it updated the Gnome version 3.24.
Now Iâm trying to download the lastes updates of Endless Os from my house and it gives me a âSorry, something went wrongâ message.
The eos-diagnostics file is attached.
My plan is to erase internet connections data and try again.eos-diagnostic-Asus-A542UN_v2.txt (819.7 KB)
