I accidentally use a command in the terminal and I deactivated the network settings and now I can’t either connect to wifi or in net with my wire. What command should I use to have back the network options?
Something that would help us a lot to understand the problem would be this:
- Open the application called ‘Terminal’
- In this application run the command:
eos-diagnostics
- The above command will create a file with the information of your system (example: eos-diagnostic-160614_111731_UTC + 0100.txt); Send us this file so we can analyze and see a possible solution
eos-diagnostic-200213_220628_UTC 0100.txt (888,7 KB)
Try:
sudo bash
rm /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/*.nmconnection
reboot
This will remove all defined NetworkManager connections and then reboot. Afterwards, you should be able to create new connections again.
Do you remember the command you issued which caused the problem?
No I don’t remember it was by accident.
There is a PPP connection called UJEP which is causing the network manager to crash. This probably indicates a bug in the software, although it may be caused by unusual circumstances/configuration.
The suggestion from egrath above will hopefully remove that connection and then you’ll be able to use wifi and ethernet again, have you tried it?
@ka_yen Do you have an update on this?
