Anyone feeling like they need a project over the silly season?

Hi,

I posted this in October Brother bought a Printer/Scanner.

There doesn’t seem to be much movement on the Debian front for updating libsane.

The canon website has a program call scangear2 designed for use with the printer. It is available for Debian and Redhat. It takes about 10 seconds install using the script on a linux box that allows the script to run. https://www.canon.co.nz/printers/pixma-home-ts8260/support

Is anyone keen to convert it to a flatpak? I have read the flatpak documentation and was going to convert it myself but I am afraid it is gobbledegook to me.

Thanks
G

I see that flathub would prefer the software owners to maintain the packages. I spoke to Canon support and their reply was deb, rpm or source. Oh well, no harm in asking.
