Hi. I cannot update Endless OS. (My current version is 3.4.2-nexthw1 (180612-064059)).
AppCenter displays no updates.
I’ve tried to execute some commands from other topics on that subject but they result in errors in my case.
Please find attached the diagnostic file.

Thanks in advance for your help.
- Open the application called ‘Terminal’
- In this application run the command:
sudo eos-fix-ostree-repo
eos-updater-ctl update
Hi!
Please let us know if the information provided by Leandro solved the Issue.
Sorry about that! There is a problem with versions 3.4.0-nexthw1, 3.4.2-nexthw1 and 3.4.3-nexthw1 where the upgrade process is not working quite right.
To recover from this situation, open the Terminal app and at the prompt, carefully type the command:
sudo ostree admin upgrade
It may ask for your user password (which will not be displayed as you type it in).
It will then go and download the update, so please be patient until the process finishes, it will say Bootloader updated; bootconfig swap: yes deployment count change: 1
At that point, reboot your computer and it will load the new version of Endless OS.
Apologies for the inconvenience!
@LeandroStanger @Daniel Many thanks to all of you!
I have successfully upgraded OS to version 3.7.8 (200309-143433).
Regarding commands:
-
sudo eos-fix-ostree-repo
– worked well, -
eos-updater-ctl update
– was doing Polling for a long-long time, then exited with an error (when I ocassionaly launched AppCenter in parallel) – you can find the log of its error here: log_for_eos-updater-ctl_update.txt (1.2 KB) -
sudo ostree admin upgrade
– worked precisely as Daniel described (thanks for good description!).
Thanks for your help!
