So yesterday I got my new laptop, which apparently came with Endless os. I was told that I can access the bios by pressing esc when it is booting up, but esc button gets me into the minimal “grub”. What do I press to access the bios? Or what do I write in “grub” to access bios?
What is the brand of your notebook?
I recently bought an Acer Notebook with endless OS preinstalled and the Acer Support pages mention that the BIOS can be entered by hitting F2 during boot (“as soon as the first logo Screen appears”).
Edit: I can now confirm that it works. Shortly after powering on, an Acer splash Screen occurs. If I hit F2 immediately, the entered.
The problem is that other manufacturers use other keys to enter BIOS: Fujitsu use also F2, but HP/Compaq use F10.
Type normal
, press Enter, then immediately hit Escape again (just once).
Edit: sorry, I misread the question: the answer above is how to get to the GRUB menu from the GRUB command prompt. @btreut is right that it’s probably F2 or another F key.
There is a list of F-Keys for different manufacturers here: access bios
