Can't update OS when update is SUPPOSED to be available

So, I’ve been checking out the Endless community constantly and noticed that there are new OS updates that should be ready to be installed.

As of now I’m on version 3.8.0 and I want to update to 3.8.1 but…

As you can see, the big orange box that notifies you for an OS update is not there. Just a bunch of updates for various app are available

I’m not so sure how to proceed further. Help?

Hi,

I expect the OS update option may appear after those 8 pending app updates finish. If not you could try the refresh button in the top left.

Alternatively you can open the Terminal app and run the command:

sudo eos-updater-ctl update

It may ask for your password, which will not appear as you type it in.

It’s stuck at “Changed state to Fetching” for a few hours now…is it normal??
If it’s internet related stuff happening at this “fetching” state, then there should be no problem - my internet is currently top notch. What could be wrong?

Edit: ok, after a mere 2 hours of waiting, i got this log:

I can’t understand it hahaha - what’s it saying?

Can you please perform the following steps:

  1. Open a new Terminal and type:
journalctl -f -u eos-updater
  1. Open another Terminal and execute:
eos-updater-ctl update --force
  1. Post the output which is being produced in the Terminal (1) here in this Thread.
