Connecting AirPods via Bluetooth

Hi all,

I have been using Endless OS for about a month and absolutely love everything about it. However, I am having an issue with one thing: connecting my AirPods to listen to audio via Bluetooth. They appear in the list of available devices when I put them into pairing mode. Upon clicking on them in order to connect them, the loading swirl goes for roughly 30-45 seconds and then returns to a status of Not Setup. I have ensured there is nothing else trying to connect to the AirPods nearby and have turned Bluetooth off and on while they are in pairing mode. Everything else I have tried to pair via Bluetooth has connected without a single hitch. Is there some type of file I need to install in order to connect AirPods?

Thank you in advance.

Something that would help us a lot to understand the problem would be this:

  1. Open the application called ‘Terminal’
  2. In this application run the command:

eos-diagnostics

  1. The above command will create a file with the information of your system (example: eos-diagnostic-160614_111731_UTC + 0100.txt); Send us this file so we can analyze and see a possible solution

eos-diagnostic-200410_153321_UTC-0400.txt (1.0 MB)

Here is the file.

Hi!

Hi,

to get AirPods working, perform the following steps:

  1. Execute: sudo gedit /etc/bluetooth/main.conf
  2. Search for the Entry named ControllerMode and replace the line with:
ControllerMode=bedr
  1. Save the file
  2. Restart your machine and pair again

Works for me with AirPods (1st Gen)

I tried that and it did not work. When I save the file, the terminal displays the following:

** (org.gnome.gedit:7020): WARNING **: 12:24:15.075: Set document metadata failed: Setting attribute metadata::gedit-spell-language not supported

** (org.gnome.gedit:7020): WARNING **: 12:24:15.075: Set document metadata failed: Setting attribute metadata::gedit-encoding not supported

** (org.gnome.gedit:7020): WARNING **: 12:24:17.055: Set document metadata failed: Setting attribute metadata::gedit-position not supported

Edit: Nevermind, I rebooted and tried connecting them again and it worked. Thanks for all the help!
