Endless freezes a lot for some months now, using web browser only

Hi everyone,

I am using Endless OS for years and it is a great tool. It has been the most stable OS ever. But now, for many months now, it freezes a lot when I browse the internet on some websites. For example, I can open the amazon page, but if I search for any product, it freezes very quickly. I can only reboot.

The computer doesn’t freeze with all the other applications. No problem at all with LibreOffice, Pitivi, Handbrake, XnView, VLC, and everything… Hopefully I can browse many websites, but not all.

I have tried Firefox, Waterfox, Web, Chromium and the issue is exactly the same, regardless the browser I am using. [EDIT. Using Yandex browser solves the problem. Temporarily]

Reading eos-diagnostic,can you tell what the bug is? NB: I have rebooted 3 times because of this issue before sending this message.

  1. Open the application called ‘Terminal’
  2. In this application, run the following command:
flatpak update --appstream && flatpak update -y

Checking everything was up-to-date was the first thing I did. It didn’t help.

I ran the command successfully. 20 updates done. There is no change about the issue. Hopefully, using Yandex browser is a solution for some problematic websites…
