Endless os problem- please help

HI, i have a few problems,

  1. I dual booted windows and endless os. There is no GRUB menu when i switch on my PC. It directly boots into windows

  2. Endless os takes a long time to boot. It stays on the Endless OS logo screen for 1 to 1.5 minutes.

  3. App centre and Chromium shut down randomly

  4. Users switch randomly without my decision.

  5. It shows around 80% storage used even when I have no files in Documents, Download, Pictures and Videos.

  6. It shows OS updates available notification but when i open app center, there are no updates

Please help me find solutions. I have a HP laptop and have Endless 4.0.3; Build ID: 220203-163913

any help would be appreciated

thank you

But presumably you have found a way to boot Endless OS since you have further issues with it.

Can you describe what you mean here in more detail?

How much disk space did you allocate to Endless OS?

Installed apps also contribute to the storage used.

After reproducing these problems, please generate a debug log and attach it here:

I need to press esc then f9 then select endless os to boot into it

i have 2 users. When i open a new app windows, it switches to the second user automatically

i have alloted 32gb of space to Endless OS and I have only installed 4- 5 applications in Endless

Here is my debug log

eos-diagnostic-220216_094258_UTC 0530.txt (2.6 MB)

This sounds really strange. Indeed in your diagnostic file I can see two users logged in. Can you record a video of this whole process, starting with you switching on the computer, logging into one of your users, and then reproducing this problem?

32 GB is honestly a bit on the small side.

Looking at your diagnostic file, you have a number of additional Flatpak runtimes installed, including two SDKs that I doubt any of the apps you have installed are using. You could try:

flatpak uninstall --unused

or failing that,

flatpak uninstall org.kde.Sdk/x86_64/6.2 org.gnome.Sdk/x86_64/3.38

You also have both Chromium & Chrome installed; why not uninstall the one you don’t use?

I see from this that you are using nightly development builds of the OS:

Is this intentional?

Yes, I installed 4.0.3

Why, out of interest?
