Endless possibly good operating system for Senior

Hi for the 4 or 5 years or so I’ve been helping out seniors by refurbishing older computers and installing Linux on them. This works will because linux will run on older hardware, most seniors check email look at Facebook and surf the net all of these thing work well on Linux. One of the problems I have is updates, they don’t do them don’t like to do them and don’t think to do them. The thing that cough my attention was close system don’t need internet don’t need updates, But and there is all way a but endless os don’t seem to run on older hardware shame because in a lot of the countries not everybody will be able to afford one of those grate little computers and some will try to run some old computer that was discarded. thanks for Endless OS

Hi @david1, Endless can be installed on many different types of computer, including older versions. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that all models will work so Leandro’s post right above showing what is currently supported might help those interested in learning more about the specs we know work. We are constantly working on adding more support.

Have you tried to install Endless on any particular models? It’d be great if you could share those with us.

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement!

yes the laptop was a Toshiba satellite that originally cam with Vista with a AMD64 cpu saying that I have installed it on a desktop of the same vintage. The desktop I’m using Endless os on now is a HP quad core with 8 GB of ram witch is not a year old yet. Just about all the people I give computers to are on fix income retired other wise they would buy a new $79 computer. Thanks reply
