Exiting an unresponsive app and ctrl+c not working

Hello,

I am having trouble with two things: the first problem is exiting an app, Sweet Home 3D. It never loaded properly, and I haven’t been able to find a way to shut it down. The second is that sometimes copy/paste does not react, and I have to hit the CTRL+C keys several times to register. Sometimes I also need to repeat right click - copy as well. Attached is the screenshot and the eos-diagnostic.

For the first issue with terminating unresponsive applications:

  1. Press Alt-F2, then type “gnome-system-monitor”
  2. Look for the Process you want to terminate, then click “End Process”

I can’t recognize the process; it doesn’t appear under a process name. Where can I find out the ID of the app? The app center is not showing me the installed apps, it constantly refreshes.

Upgrade to Endless OS 3.8.0 by App Center

Please let us know if updating the OS solved the issue.

Hello, I launched the Sweet Home 3D app five minutes ago; it was still loading. I then tried to terminate the app by launching gnome-system-monitor, but I cannot determine which process I should terminate. I don’t recognize the name of this process. I currently have Firefox open, as well as WPS Writer, Presentation, and Spreadsheet open. I can recognize their process names, but there’s nothing currently recognizable for this app. Should I check the process properties for each app that seems like might be it?

OK, I found it; it’s the process called gnome-software, PID is 5212 - shouldn’t there be a more descriptive name so we can recognize it??

I clicked on end process, I was asked if I was sure I wanted to do it, I confirmed but the splash image is still on my desktop. So no, updating the OS did not solve the issue.

How can I remove this, it is not responding when I try to do it in the app center (splash screen is still there even though it’s apparently been removed from the desktop)?

To terminate Sweethome 3D, run the following command:

kill -9 $(ps ax | grep sweethome3d | grep -v grep | awk '{print $1}')

Please not that it will terminate the process regardless of it’s state.

Thank you, that worked! I don’t think I’ll be trying to use this app again.

привет, у вас приложение sweethome3d вообще хоть раз нормально запустилось?
у меня - нет.

Hi, I had to use Google translate for this - no, the application did not work at all, not even once = Привет, я должен был использовать Google переводчик для этого - нет, приложение не работало вообще, ни разу.

:wink:буду ожидать , когда починят.
