Help me help my son

Hi everyone.
so, My husband found a “great deal” computer for the kids, come to find out it runs endless. I hate it, but my 11 year old son has learned to navigate it…a little too well. I need to figure out how to limit his access to the internet - either a second account that has no access to the internet, or possibly only log in with a password? I am NOT a computer person, I like being able to just do what needs done without a bunch of codes haha. so please help this id10t to give her son a LITTLE freedom, without giving him free rein
Thanks in Advance!!!

There is an application on the main screen called Parental Controls. You can restrict access to internet browsers through that.

Your husband was very smart to get endless. I have dealt with this situation for my own children. Unfortunately, Endless does not include filtered internet YET. Apparently, GNOME in general will have this in the next GNOME release. This will of course eventually include Endless. Until then, what you need to do is manually enter The DNS address for the free Cisco opendns. You must log into the parent account and select your WiFi and then type in the DNS address for Opendns. If You are using ethernet, you must do the same thing for that connection. Whenever the child tries to connect to a website, he or she will be greeted with the friendly open DNS filter. I have it set up so that my children cannot visit any websites at all. They are still able to use the app store that is built in to endless. If I am with the children and I want them to visit websites then I have to go into the parent account and manually disable the DNS settings for open DNS. I forgot to specify, if you want to block all websites all together you must type in 0.0.0.0 as your DNS address. If you use Cisco open DNS then you are basically giving the child access to the internet that is free from pornography, dating sites, etc.
