Help us test HP Printer compatibility!

Do you have an HP printer? If so, please take a few minutes to help us make sure that your printer, and others like it, are compatible with Endless OS. Read on to see how you can help.

What’s this all about?

In a recent update to Endless OS we have improved support for a number of HP printers!

We’ve added compatibility for printers that belong to the LaserJet MFP, LaserJet Pro MFP, LaserJet Color MFP, LaserJet Color Pro MFP, LaserJet Professional and LaserJet 1000 families. (Check the full list here).

Here’s what to do: test your device compatibility

Since we do not own all of the printers for which we make driver fixes, we need your help testing their compatibility with Endless OS.

How to test your printer:

  1. Type “Printers” into global search bar on the desktop and click on the result to open that section of the control center.
  1. Select your printer from the list of printers that show up. If you do not see your printer in the list, you’ll need to connect to it by plugging it in with a USB, or else connecting via WiFi.

  2. Click “Print Test Page”.

How to report your results:

If it works, let us know by replying to this thread with the model number you tested and a brief statement letting us know that it worked.

If it doesn’t work, reply to this topic letting us know which model number you have. Please also attach a diagnostic log so we can see what happened by following these steps:

  1. Open the application called ‘Terminal’

  2. In this application run the command: eos-diagnostics

  3. The above command will create a file with the information of your system (example: eos-diagnostic-160614_111731_UTC + 0100.txt); Send us this file so we can analyze and see a possible solution

That’s it! Thank you in advance for your help.
