@Tech_Nik - if you can’t remember your password from the hints you added when you first set up your computer, you’ll need to email Endless’ support team with some basic info.

Noritsu i checked this method on operating systems: Linux Mint, Solus OS, Ubuntu Budgie 17.04 Zesty Zapus, and this method works fine.
Now I tried this method on Endless OS in mode LIVE-USB (created a new account, change your password and it worked.).
I would like to ask you a question about the installation. Nowhere is there the button “Install OS.” How do I install the OS on the hard disk ?

How did you make your live USB? If you’re on Linux you need to run the eos-write-live-image script; just uncompressing the image and dding it to the USB stick isn’t enough. We’re working on making this simpler.
this method works fine
It works fine if you are experienced enough to boot a USB stick, mount the root filesystem and edit shadow – in which case you probably already know how to do this 
WJT i agree, this method is not for the beginner. But a way to reset the password by using the Terminal, in my opinion even more confuse the user. My way though as that can be called a graphic.

I never had to install the system in this way. I think everything will turn out.
I clearly forgot my password and can’t able to recover it.
