Installing my favourite game

Hi, can someone help me instal my favourite game? I just bought my laptop and it had endelss os pre-installed and I really liked it but it is still not WIndows so if you could help… website is here metin2 . Thank you!

I googled “metin2 linux” and found this article. Unfortunately step one is “install Wine” which is not currently supported on Endless OS :frowning:

So there is nothing I can do? I’d hate to have to switch to windows again…

How about Crossover or Cedega? THey are mentioned as alternatives to Wine

We hope that either ourselves or the Flatpak community will soon come up with a reliable way to use Wine with Flatpak (and therefore Endless OS). We don’t have any definite timeline, though.

@ptomato Could you point me in the direction of where wine is being flatpack`ed ?

It seems the most advances are being made right now in an unexpected corner. As @LeandroStanger pointed out elsewhere on this forum, pirate groups are packaging pirated Windows games for Linux using Wine and Flatpak: https://community.endlessos.com/t/flatpak-in-a-whole-new-level-scream-scream-scream/4561

It’s been claimed that this is the script they’re using to make the packages: https://pastebin.com/kGRTe8YL As far as I can tell it should be possible to package legitimate programs this way too.
