libva provides access to graphics hardware acceleration capabilities for video processing.
Is that possible to include libva and libva driver in endless os ?
This is mandatory to play some vidéos with a low end cpu: vlc can use it.
For debian based distro, packages are:
i965-va-driver (intel driver)
libva-drm1

Hey there, last time we looked into this the quality was very variable across the machines we wanted to support - there were a lot more crashes than we were wanting to see. I’d be happy to look into it again because you’re right - it’d be great to enable better playback on low end CPUs, although I’ll note that our testing didn’t always show power usage improvements.
