Matlab autocad maya and other cool softwares are unavailable

Os is good and nice running smoothly. I want softwares matlab and other cool opensource softwares.that is unavailable in this os. Adobe reader etc.

@smit
From version 3.0 on, Endless OS uses Flatpak, a new app distribution system for Linux

@smit neither MATLAB nor Adobe Reader are open-source. Maybe you meant “cool closed source software”?

  • MATLAB: it’s been a while since I installed it, but I’m pretty sure it just installs to /usr/local, so if you buy a copy it’d probably work. You might be interested in GNU Octave as discussed in this thread https://community.endlessos.com/t/add-statistics-software/1419/8 but it’s not yet available as a Flatpak.
  • AutoCAD: there’s no Linux version of this according to Wikipedia, so you’d have to speak to Autodesk about a version for Endless OS. I’m not sure about good open-source CAD software for Linux.
  • Maya: based on this document you might be able to install it to /usr/local if you have a license. Perhaps Blender would work for you as an alternative. It’s available as a flatpak so can be installed on Endless OS.
  • Adobe Reader: we include a PDF reader in the OS. Adobe don’t seem to publish the Linux version of Acrobat any more.

@smit

  1. Abra la aplicación llamada ‘Terminal’
  2. En esta aplicación, ejecute el comando:

flatpak install --from https://www.daitauha.fr/static/flatpak/blender.flatpakref

3)En esta aplicación, ejecute el comando:

flatpak run org.blender.Blender

nice suggestion but that was 2d cad , i am engineer i need 3d cad. For mechanical uses.

There is a 3D CAD app in the App Center. I don’t know what all functionality you need, but it can certainly do mechanical modeling

Linux App finder is a pleasant guide.

though osalt is abit more undiluted.

thanx for librecad suggestion i used it and its working fine just little less utilities but its fine.

I think a cool proprietary application in replacement for Adobe PDF but with support for gnu/linux is Master PDF Editor. GNU/Linux have excellent PDF readers, but an editor is something necessary and Master PDF Editor is very good.
