Minetest Update Erases Mods, Worlds, etc

Hi team - We have a large rollout of devices where Minetest is installed with a number of packages installed on Minetest 5.2.0. Somewhere along the way while rolling out laptops, it seems Minetest updated to 5.3.0, and all of the Installed Packages are removed. Can anyone help me understand what happened here? I’m not sure what’s going on or if there is a way to recover content from the minetest 5.2.0
