Hello!
I would be interested in buying a Mission Mini (as described in the Endless shop) with an ARM CPU, if it would come in a “developer edition” with 8 CPU cores and 16 GiB RAM (in fact, I would have bought it already, if it was available).
This is, since I would like to do development on that machine, and my experience shows that Java IDEs like JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA, C IDEs like JetBrains CLion, editors like Atom, Java / Clojure / Rust / C / C++ compilers and analysers, the to-be-developed program in a REPL and such things require lots of RAM and involve lots of concurrent processes or threads.
An AMD Radeon or Nvidia Tegra GPU and a DisplayPort output would be a useful and interesting addition, but not nearly as important as more CPU cores and RAM.
The Mission One (as described in the list of Endless computers) is not interesting to me, since it has an x86-64 / Intel CPU, while I would like to do development on a more “embedded” board. Also, the Endless Mini appears to be smaller and has a nicer (more “round”) design.
There has be been a similar request in January this year (s.b.). It would be great if Endless would consider a more powerful system during their next iteration on the product palette.
Thanks,
Dennis
