My scanner Epson Perfection 3200 don’t work with Image Scan and Simple scan from Apps Stock. Under Windows it work

Please attach the eos-diagnostic log file for any Endless OS problems, and a screenshot or camera image of the error message itself.

To generate an eos-diagnostic file:

  1. Open the application called ‘Terminal’. You can search for it by typing into the search bar on the desktop.
  2. In the Terminal, type the command: eos-diagnostics
  3. The above command will create a file with the information of your system (example: eos-diagnostic-160614_111731_UTC + 0100.txt); Send us this file so we can analyze it and seek a possible solutioneos-diagnostic-190310_084830_UTC 0200.txt (1,2 Mo)

This morning I attached the file.
Now I send you it again .eos-diagnostic-190310_084830_UTC 0200.txt (1,2 Mo)

@ramcq @cosimoc @mario @wjt Could help?

My Epson Perfection 3200 work normally with VueScan from Apps.

When I scan with VueScan there are watermarks. For this reason I”m looking for other scanning program.

@Todor_Minkov the diagnostic file doesn’t contain any useful information, because you did not run the apps in question between starting the computer and generating the file. Please do the following:

  • Run Simple Scan and try to access your scanner. Make a note of any errors you see, ideally with screenshots
  • Run Image Scan and try to access your scanner. Make a note of any errors you see, ideally with screenshots
  • Now create a new eos-diagnostics log and attach it here

Hello @wjt,

  1. For Simple scan:
    About 20 days before it works more of tine. Sometimes not. I think that after my last updates it
    stop to work .When I click on the program it start to turn (to charge) and after disappear from the screen. I made eos-diagnostics just after that.

  2. For Image Scan:
    Never I see it works. I attach you its file just after try start the program. Attach also screen shot.

Thank youeos-diagnostic-190312_174040_UTC 0200_Simple Scan.txt (1,2 Mo)

Great. The diagnostic file shows that it is crashing:

I don’t have an immediate solution here but the May release of Endless is likely to contain a much newer version of Simple Scan.

https://gitlab.com/utsushi/utsushi/ is the community website for this program. Your scanner is not listed there, but that’s not a guarantee that it’s not supported.

Are you connecting it over USB, or trying to scan over the network? There’s a note on the community site that network scanning needs an external component. @cosimoc it looks like you made this Flatpak: do you have an Epsom scanner? Did you investigate this external non-free network scanning component?

@wjt I don’t have an epson scanner at the moment and did not test the nonfree network component when making this flatpak. I would not be surprised if it’s broken.

I connect my scanner over USB ports. I changed them.

@LeandroStanger

Hello,
From one side I like Endless OS, from other side I’m disarmed.
What I mean – my HP laserjet 100 color (scanner &printer) don’t work. Also my scanner Epson perfection 3200 don’t work with two programs from Apps. About one mount before, Epson worked with Simple Scan, but now it crashed every time.

Can you tell me please what do I can expect from the near future about those problems ?
