New User thoughts

Hi,

I have tried Endless OS a few times in the past 12-18 months. I love the look and feel of it.
I recently tried Endless at work on a dual screen set up and it detected both monitors without issue. However it detected my right monitor as the main monitor and in order for my mouse to go to the left screen I had to move my mouse to the right and not left. This is common issue but I could see how to change it so that it would follow logic.

I distro hop a lot trying all sorts of distros. Endless definitely has a lag when opening applications and seems positively slow compared to other gnome based distros I have tried. It is a shame as I really like the desktop layout of this VERY polished distro.

Also is there a way to turn off the drop down menu on the top that holds today’s messages.

Something that would help us a lot to understand the problem would be this:

  1. Open the application called ‘Terminal’
  2. In this application run the command:

eos-diagnostics

  1. The above command will create a file with the information of your system (example: eos-diagnostic-160614_111731_UTC + 0100.txt); Send us this file so we can analyze and see a possible solution
