NextDNS on Endless OS

Hello, I’m new to using Endless OS 6, but not Linux. I understand that the file system is read only in certain parts and software needs to be managed through Flatpaks. My issue is around DNS. I can enable the eos-safe-defaults.service, but I would like to be able to use my personal DNS (NextDNS) instead of the FamilyShield OpenDNS. Partially because I have a separate DNS setup for my children that controls content, but also usage schedules, ad filtering and more. Is there a way to adjust dnsmasq to use NextDNS instead of OpenDNS? TIA!

I’d suggest that consult the idea of Web safety. Then, you can understand that enabled eos-safe-defaults.service creates symbolic links according to /usr/share/eos-safe-defaults/tmpfiles-enable.conf. One of the link teaches NetworkManager using dnsmasq.

You can have a your own nm-use-dnsmasq.conf to teach NetworkManager.

I don’t want to talk nonsense, but can’t you enter your DNS in the settings of the network device you use to connect to the internet?
