when ever l try to use the terminal it tells me my system is a read-only system, how can i change this?

You can install using the toolbox command. The Toolbox is a tool that offers a familiar RPM based environment for developing and debugging software that runs fully unprivileged using Podman. I recommend reading the toolbox command documentation using the command toolbox --help or github.com/debarshiray/toolbox/tree/master/doc

How to fix read only file error

Ah, thanks for the reference @LeandroStanger @Akshansh_Rawat after reading the other comment thread it appears that your hard drive is physically damaged. Endless OS will make the entire thing read only in order to protect your data from any further loss, but there is nothing the OS can do to fix this problem. You will need to contact Acer to get the harddrive replaced.
