Restart and Try Endless OS Not Working

On some computers, choosing Restart and Try Endless OS will restart your computer, but back into Windows rather than starting Endless OS.

You may be able to work around this by entering the BIOS settings and choosing to start the computer from USB, or by setting “Fast Boot” to disabled.

Unfortunately, the process to change your BIOS settings is different on every computer. You normally need to press a specific key—such as Esc, Del, F10 or F12—after you turn the computer on, when the manufacturer’s logo appears.

For example, here is the process on an Asus E406MA laptop. The exact keys and screens will be different on your computer, but the principle is the same.

  1. Turn the computer off.

  2. Turn the computer on, and press Esc as soon as the Asus logo appears

  3. At the menu, choose “Enter Setup”

  4. Switch to “Advanced Mode”, if applicable

  5. Choose the “Boot” tab, select the “Fast Boot” option and choose “Disable”.

  6. Save your changes and exit the BIOS setup.
