Why is Spanish (full) .iso file 57.2 GB?

Last year I downloaded the Spanish (full) iso file for Endless OS 6, and it was 18.0 GB. Today when I went to download it, I see it is now 57.2 GB. What happened since last year? It is also strange to me because the English full iso file is 24.9 GB and the French is 13.8 GB.

I was wondering the same. The size variation of the ISOs is intriguing!

The Spanish image became much bigger because more apps and offline content were added. You can see the recent changes to this image’s configuration here:

And its current app list (but not Kolibri content, alas) here:

Very helpful, thank you!

I’ll just voice a perspective that as the images become larger, there is of course an ease of installation tradeoff. A 57 GB iso file requires finding fairly large USB drives, and the target devices need a meaningful storage capacity as well. I was pretty shocked to see the image file size triple over the last year.

It’s great to add more content, but I hope the team keeps in mind these tradeoffs and weighs the costs and benefits to adding each piece of new content.
