And what about QGIS?

Hello guys,

We need QGIS on flatpak pleeeeeeeeeease.
Also R and Rstudio, but there is a topic already for that.

For some of us who use it for work, specific apps like these will be an absolute must. Especially open source ones that have been available on linux for ages. I know, you will need volunteers to do it.

Thank you for the work in unifying linux apps. Looking forward to having all the freedom and variety in the new setup and we do in .deb and company.

I think the way forward is to encourage the developers of QGIS to evaluate support for Flatpak, as I see that they have good support for GNU/Linux and can understand the advantages of this new format beyond its use for EndlessOS. For example, you could cite the good MClasen article that talks about the topic.

Get involved QGIS web page, you can make an improvement report, open a thread in the forum or on the mailing list to start a discussion of the topic. If you share the link here, we can track it.

Thanks
I asked about it on GIS StackExchange here, since they don’t have their own forum…

Found out a discussion already exists here.

I see that someone is working on a flatpak package, but it is not an official
