The first beta of Endless OS 3.7.5 is now out. Please follow these instructions if you want to join the beta testing program; bear in mind that the chance of encountering serious bugs is higher than in a regular stable release. As always, ensure your data is backed up!
Updated hardware support
Fixes from the stable branch of the Linux kernel have been integrated into Endless OS, addressing a few security issues that had been discovered recently and are now fixed. A few hardware-specific issues have been resolved, most notably, media keys support on the Connex L4175-A-SL laptop, and audio balance settings over HDMI on some hardware models.
Other Improvements and Changes
- General GNOME Shell (a.k.a Desktop) fixes/improvements. The Desktop has gained a series of improvements and bugfixes in this version, including a fix for an issue with the desktop Icons shifting up and down when activated, and a fix for an issue which would allow more than one desktop folder to be opened at once.
- GNOME Software progress bar for app installs is now working. This has been a known issue for some time and is now fixed in this new version, improving the experience while installing new software.
- Hack migration fix. We fixed a migration issue for Hack 1 users directly upgrading from an Endless version prior to Endless OS 3.7.
