Hi, I cannot rip a CD to mp3 with Clementine.
I read this topic but it’s closed now and could not ask for updates regarding mp3 encoding:
Should I install or configure something?

You need at least to give Clementine access to the raw CD-ROM drive by opening Terminal and executing:
flatpak override --user --device=all org.clementine_player.Clementine
This will make the drive to show up in the ripping dialogue. Can’t test out if it works further as i have no audio CD at hand, please report back if the above command is enough.
Thank you!
I will try next week-end when I’m in front of the laptop.
Could you kindly have a look on my other issue?
I need to know if the “hp-setup” command is still available or not:
Cheers.
I ran the command but nothing happened.
I still cannot see the CD contents neither for playback nor for ripping.
Thanks for letting me know. I try to grab some Audio CD and work out the steps necessary tomorrow.
Thank you for your help!
The laptop is quite old, it’s a Toshiba Portege R830.

Finally, i got a Audio CD to try out
As far as it seems you’re out of luck with Clementine, as it isn’t a permission issue as i previously thought, but instead a bug in Clementine itself, documented and discussed, but still unresolved here:
As an alternative for ripping Audio CDs to MP3 i recommend fre:ac which is also in the App Center and works out of the box:
Thank you for your investigation and reply
I will use this workaround
